Electricity and fuel pricing assumptions. Electricity rates are based on an indicative residential effective rate of 32.0¢/kWh for VIC (figures dated March 2026). The default slider for “electricity costs” reflects this estimate only. Your actual electricity charge may be higher or lower and will vary depending on your retailer, plan, location, time-of-use pricing and where and how charging occurs (including home charging versus public or fast-charging stations). Contact your energy provider for your current rate.
Other costs and factors not included. This calculator doesn't include, and doesn't account for, all costs or factors that may affect vehicle ownership or total cost of ownership. Excluded items include (without limitation): (a) vehicle purchase price, depreciation or residual value; (b) financing costs; (c) taxes and other government charges; (d) insurance premiums beyond any user-entered estimate; (e) repair costs, unexpected maintenance or component replacement costs (such as battery replacement); (f) installation or upgrade of charging infrastructure (such as home EV chargers); (g) public charging fees beyond the effective rate selected; (h) government incentives, rebates or exemptions (which may vary by jurisdiction and over time); and (i) any costs or attributes specific to a particular vehicle, brand or model.
